1.  Objective

          All aspects of information systems and networks, including:
                (a) local, metropolitan and wide area computer networks;
                (b) communications protocols and standards, including internetworking;
                (c) security and management in networks and distributed systems;
                (d) distributed databases and information servers;
                (e) networked and distributed systems and applications;
                (f) open systems interconnection (OSI) and open distributed progressing (ODP).
